Bamboo mug 2018
Text
Back in time.

In 2018 I did my graduation project for SintLucas during my internship at Studio Roderick Vos. For the product I wanted to use a technique I didn’t knew, I chose to make a product out of porcelain. For inspiration I looked at the nature. Immediately bamboo came to mind because, I wanted to make a stackable mug.

Big thanks to @roderickvos and @clairevos for the amazing internship. Also thanks to @fabriqueceramic for the chance to make my products at your studio!

@wisse_design
I love the use of colors together, that he only use square posts and that the feed looks very clean.
I like that she also shows process and not only the final products. For example, you can see that she is choosing new colors for a new product.

But I don't like that she also uses vertical posts.

@studiolorier
It's nice that he posts several pictures of the same product. But also that he not only posts photos but also videos.
@lexpott
The use of color is amazing! He brings the colors subtly back in other photos.
@haydesign
You feel the theme very well with this feed. They subtly show a plant or flower everywhere in the photos.
My own instagram page
* I decided to only use square posts because I think it looks much calmer.

* I will also show process of sketching new idea's, experimenting, choosing materials and making products.

* I want for example, to post three posts in a row who fits very good together.

* I want to try to post three photos every week (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday). I want to schedule this via the planner of facebook so that the photos are automatically added at a certain time.

*I will write all the text I use on my instagram page in English, so everyone can read it.

Kat in het bakkie 2019
Text
Back in time.

In 2019 we got a assignment to design a product for HEMA. The product we designed is named Kat in het bakkie. It is a multifunctional cat basket, your cat can sleep and can be transported in the cat basket. An additional function of this product is that you can easily take it apart if necessary and store it in the felt bag. A design that does not require screws and glue. The perfect product for the cat loving HEMA customer.

Collaboration with @moniquehanse and @jorisvansoldt.

Cabinet 2017
Text
Back in time. (2017)

This cabinet reflects two characteristics I recognize within myself. One positive, as in being a go-getter and the other negative as in vulnerable. You can see these characteristics in the drawers of the cabinet. It consists 5 drawers, you need to open the middle drawer first to open the rest of the drawers. You need to be a go-getter to open all of the drawers. But if you pull them out too far, the drawers will be too long and heavy, so the cabinet will fall over. The risk of falling over reflects on being vulnerable.

I found a new intervention I could do on the knitting machine. I intergrade elastic bands as an unusual knitting material. With this intervention I highlight the craft of knitting because the product is really showing how it is made. By adding elastic bands, it creates more elasticity, 3D- and empty spaces.
Goedbont 2020
Goedbont is a statement piece, it shows my vision about mass production within fashion. I grew up in an environment with mink farms. In 2024 mink farms will be forbidden in The Netherlands, the media has always had a negative view on the fur industry. I want to change the perspective of the media and therefore, the public even though I know I can’t save the fur industry in The Netherlands anymore. I want to show people that the use of fur can be good and sustainable.

Fur is sustainable because it goes from generation to generation. I will show this with my gender-neutral scarf which is easy to pass on for several generations because men and woman can wear it. The scarf is made from pieces of rest fur, these pieces can come from companies who produce fur products such as jackets. Normally they would throw these pieces away because they’re very small and have weird forms. I have hand-sewed the pieces together to make a scarf.
